Da wir die landschaftlich interessantere Strecke auf dem Festland dem Expressway vorzogen, fuhren wir zun\u00e4chst ca. 45 Meilen \u00fcber den Highway 1. Kurz vor Key Lago kamen wir dann auf die erste Br\u00fccke die vom Festland in Richtung Key West f\u00fchrt. Wir waren noch nicht weit vom Festland entfernt, da lag ein plattgefahrenes Krokodil auf der Stra\u00dfe. Leider war das auch bislang das einzige was wir gesehen haben. Daf\u00fcr gab es aber ganz viele Pelikane und Reiher zu sehen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Gegen Mittag machten wir im <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dolphins.org\" target=\"_blank\">Delphin Research Center<\/a> halt. Hier werden kranke Delphine wieder aufgep\u00e4ppelt und es ist gleichzeitig eine Aufzuchtstation. Neben Delphinen gibt es hier auch Seel\u00f6wen. Es ist echt Wahnsinn und man wei\u00df gar nicht, wo man zuerst fotografieren soll. Das <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dolphins.org\" target=\"_blank\">Heron House Court<\/a> ist echt toll. Es ist ein altes Geb\u00e4ude aus dem 19. Jahrhundert im typischen Key-West- bzw. Bahamas-Stil und erinnert sehr an ein englisches Bed &amp; Breakfast Hotel. Es gibt sogar einen Whirlpool und einen Pool in der kleinen Gartenanlage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Nach nur 5 Minuten zu Fu\u00df ist man am Hafen. Dort gibt es neben tollen Yachten viele Restaurants und Unterhaltungsm\u00f6glichkeiten. Wenn man den Bootssteg weiter Richtung Innenstadt l\u00e4uft, kommt man zu Duval Street, der Unterhaltungsmeile von Key West. Von Fastfoodketten, \u00fcber Souvenirgesch\u00e4fte, Galerien und Open Air Bars ist hier alles vertreten.
